Tshukudu is nestled against the side of a hill surrounded by the mountains of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, overlooking a waterhole and the savannah plain this romantic hideout boasts great game viewing without even leaving the lodge. Tshukudu is one of South Africa’s most romantic bush lodges, unique and memorable in every aspect.

Tshukudu Bush Lodge offers an intimate and exclusive experience with expansive views of the plains below. Relax in your open plan lounge and watch the game wander lazily through the bush, towards the waterhole located below the lodge.At night, after dinner, take a short walk back to your private chalet and watch the stars traverse the African sky.

Luxury Suite entrance - Tshukudu Bush Lodge

The six free standing luxury chalets of Tshukudu Bush Lodge are individually decorated with a love of detail. Leather sofas and crystal chandeliers provide an elaborate feel while a double bed and a sunken bath tub guarantee comfort and relaxation. Extensions and improvements to Tshukudu Bush Lodge during 2015 has seen the addition of 4 new Luxury Suites, taking the total number of suites and chalets up to 10. The new suites include crystal chandeliers and a rock craft fireplace in each chalet. Also included is a new private plunge pool on the secluded deck overlooking the stunning surrounding plains.

Luxury Chalets

All 6 chalets have one double bed, open plan lounge with fireplace, sunken bath, fully stocked mini-bar, bird books, magazines, as well as plug points, hairdryer, and tea/coffee making facilities.

Luxury Suites

Each of the 4 new suites have one Queen bed, open plan lounge with fireplace, bath, indoor and outdoor shower, fully stocked mini-bar, bird books, magazines, as well as plug points, hairdryer, and tea/coffee making facilities.

Dine – Breakfast, High Tea & Dinner

Tshukudu is renowned for its exceptional African cuisine and can be enjoyed on the main deck, in the intimate dining room, or around the fire. Our chef will present his 5-course menu, of which you can expect a different dining experience every evening.

Bush Dining

Amidst the quiet hills, about 2km from theLodge lies our enchanting boma. Guests are seated around the fire, where they can enjoy the African bush and night sky. Soup is served, followed by a plated starter and traditional South African braai (barbecue) buffet. The meal ends with a plated dessert and choice of cheeses.After dinner, guests are invited to share stories and listen to some African fables and legends. A truly unforgettable experience.

Boma Dinner

Breakfast is served on the deck or dinning room, where you can enjoy either a continental buffet or order a hot breakfast. High Tea (Light Lunch) is served just before the afternoon game drive and consists of something sweet and savoury to see our guests through until dinner. Game Drives

View Africa’s most impressive wildlife on morning and afternoon/ evening game drives in a 9 seater open 4-wheel drive safari vehicle with expert guides. The Pilanesberg is situated in the transition zone between the Kalahari and Lowveld, making it exceptional for spotting all kinds of wildlife. The ecology of the national park is unlike any other in the country, and almost every animal native to South Africa is found here.

Tshukudu pride themselves on presenting wildlife interaction that is sure to be the highlight of your stay. The game drives are daily and our experienced ranger will take you on a memorable trip introducing you to the tracks, movements, sights and sounds which give you a peak into the secrets of the African bush – guests can expect to encounter a diverse range of animal and bird species on our game drives.

Rock plunge pool

Located in the centre of the lodge is an intimate and quiet plunge pool with umbrellas, pool towels and a barman on standby.Perfect for a refreshing dip after a morning game drive or a peaceful nap in the afternoon. Drinks are on call, so make yourself at home in the lazy sanctuary of the pool area.

Notes:

Please note- a minimum two-night stay is required over the weekend (Friday and Saturday)
Unfortunately, no children under 12 permitted. For those 12 and over, third person in room rate applies.
No children are allowed in the Luxury Suites as rooms permit a max of 2 adults.
The lodge may only be reached by climbing 132 steps. Unfortunately, this means it is not a suitable destination for guests with disabilities or some travellers of advanced age.
CHECK-IN is at 13h30 at Bakubung for departure at 14h00 for Tshukudu. Guest vehicles are parked in protected bays at Bakubung Bush Lodge. No private vehicles are permitted at the lodge. There is one transfer daily to Tshukudu from Bakubung at 14h00.
CHECK- OUT is strictly at 11h00. Guests will be transported back to Bakubung.
