Day One Make sure you are at the Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport by 07h30. You will be met by a representative from Swift Kruger and escorted to you bus. Once out of Johannesburg travel eastwards Belfast with a convenience stop around 09h45. Continue towards Dullstroom and Lydenburg with a refreshment stop around 11h00 in Ohrigstad we then a drive down the Abel Erasmus Pass into the Lowveld. It is now only a thirty minute drive to the Balule Game Reserve a "Big Five” reserve which is part of the Greater Kruger National Park. The game ranger from Mohlabetsi will meet you at the gate and your safari starts now with game drive through the reserve to the private game lodge. We will get to the lodge by 15h00 and after enjoying a non-alcoholic welcome drinks on arrival and a briefing on the lodge program you will have time to settle into your luxury tent before you enjoy lunch looking out towards a waterhole. After lunch you have some more free time to get ready for the afternoon game drive. Late afternoon is "safari time" Meet your ranger and board an open game tracking vehicle to explore the African Bush looking for some of the many species that make this area home. The ranger will point out and explain the many animals found, and hopefully you will be lucky enough to see some cats. Just before sunset the ranger will stop and sun downer drinks accompanied with tasty snacks are enjoyed in the bush. The drive back to the lodge will be a night drive using spot lights to look for the elusive nocturnal animals. Once back at the lodge meet fellow guests at the bar area and dinner is served in a traditional "boma".
Day Two and Day Three The day begins early as the sun casts its golden rays over the bushveld. Our open vehicle game drives are designed to offer you an up-close encounter with the remarkable wildlife that call this area home. With the experienced guides, you'll embark on a thrilling journey to observe the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) and countless other fascinating creatures. The morning drive is an excellent opportunity for wildlife photography, as the animals are often most active during this time. After your morning adventure, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. Savor a delicious and nutritious spread, including a variety of fresh fruits, hot and cold dishes, and freshly brewed coffee. Breakfast is served on our open-air deck, allowing you to enjoy the breathtaking views and sounds of the wilderness as you dine. Lunch is served in a relaxed atmosphere, typically outdoors, where you can enjoy a wide range of freshly prepared dishes. In the late afternoon, you set out for the second game drive of the day. As the temperatures cool, the wildlife becomes more active, increasing your chances of witnessing thrilling predator-prey interactions, herds of elephants at waterholes, and more. The open vehicles are equipped with comfortable seating and experienced guides who provide insightful commentary about the animals and their behavior. After your afternoon adventure, return to the lodge to freshen up before dinner. The chef will prepare a sumptuous three-course meal that can be enjoyed in various settings, including our dining area, boma (outdoor enclosure), or by the campfire. Each game drive is different and an experience on its own
Day Four Another early morning wake up call (+- 05h00) with a welcome cup of hot coffee before embarking on the morning game drive with your ranger looking for any animals you may not have spotted yet. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and then freshen up then check out. At 10h00 the game lodge will drive you the the Balule Reserve Gate to be in time to meet the scheduled transfer at 10h45 am and they will drive you safely to Johannesburg Airport bus terminal arriving at about 17h15. You will have to convenience stops along the way.
