Tambuti Lodge

is situated in the Malaria Free Black Rhino Reserve, incorporated into the Pilanesberg National Park on the North Western side.

Access to the Black Rhino Reserve is through a private entrance on its western side. This lower lying reserve’s sweet veld vegetation is complimented by the Pilanesberg’s predominantly mixed sour veld, supporting a prolific amount of game including the Big 5 and offering exciting and rewarding game viewing opportunities.

Aptly named after the shy and scarce Black Rhino, the reserve is dotted with groves of Tambuti trees that attract these precious inhabitants of the wild African bush.

Tambuti Lodge consists of five luxury chalets all fitted with contemporary elegance and quality furnishings. Surrounded by striking Tambuti Trees, all the suites offer bush views and privacy, each air-conditioned with en-suite bathroom equipped with twin hand basins, bath, indoor and showers, separate toilet, complete with a private deck.

The contemporary elegance at Tambuti Lodge is complemented by the excellent service and hospitality offered by the Tambuti Team. Offering an intimate and luxurious safari experience, guests can enjoy 2 game drives daily which are conducted in the Pilanesberg during the morning and evening when you are guided by your game ranger in an open 10 seater game viewing vehicle.

Luxury Suites

All our suites offer king-size beds, two of which can also be converted into twins. Double vanities, toilet, bath, indoor and outdoor shower. Outside kitchenette and patio area accompanied by two chairs and a table for seating.

The rooms are equipped with tea and coffee making stations, telephones, overhead fan, air conditioning TVs and bar fridges. Bath amenities, gowns and slippers are provided.

Luxury bedroom with king size bed, a sleeper couch, double vanities, toilet, bath, indoor and outdoor shower.

The private patio features a jacuzzi and is furnished with a wooden bench, a table and two chairs.

The Black Rhino Reserve

Black Rhino is a private game reserve, incorporated into the Pilanesberg National Park on the North Western side. This lower lying reserve’s sweet veld vegetation complements the Pilanesberg’s predominantly mixed sour veld. This type of habitat is known to carry a wide variety of game species and sightings of elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard. There are over 350 bird species present. The reserve has its own private entrance on the Western side of the reserve.

The reserve is characterized by huge numbers of Tambuti trees and therefore we have regular sightings of the shy and scarce black rhino. These trees also play host to an incredibly wide variety of bird species thus making the area a birding paradise.

Game Drives

The Pilanesberg is situated in the transition zone between the Kalahari and Lowveld, making it exceptional for spotting all kinds of wildlife. The ecology of the national park is unlike any other in the country, and almost every animal native to South Africa is found here.

We pride ourselves on presenting wildlife interaction that is sure to be the highlight of your stay. The game drives are daily and our experienced ranger will take you on a memorable trip introducing you to the tracks, movements, sights and sounds which give you a peak into the secrets of the African bush – guests can expect to encounter a diverse range of animal and bird species on our game drives. Children are permitted on drives at the discretion of the game ranger.
